Tasks

• Operate electronic or computerized control panel from a central control room
• Participate in training of other workers
• Monitor and optimize physical and chemical process for several processing units
• Control process start-up, shut-down and troubleshooting
• Participate in safety audits and programs
• Monitor outside process equipment
• Adjust equipment, valves, pumps and controls and process equipment
• Develop operator procedures for normal operation, start-up or shut-down
• Rotate between different processing units during shift cycles
• Work in a team with shared supervisory responsibilities
• Ensure adherence to safety regulations
• Manipulate sections of pipes or drill stems at rig floor during drilling and during removal and replacement of pipes, drill stems and drill bits
• Clean up rig areas
• Assist in setting up, taking down and transporting drilling and service rigs and service equipment
• Assist other workers to maintain drilling equipment on drill floor
