  • Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years

Work setting

  • Hospital/medical facility or clinic

Tasks

  • Check, calibrate and perform routine maintenance to equipment
  • Train and supervise students, other technologists or nurses
  • Prepare recordings and reports of findings for physicians
  • Take notes on the recorded graph to identify interference
  • Operate electrocardiographs, cardiac ultrasound and other electronic equipment

Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses 

  • Provincial or territorial registration
  • Canadian Board of Electroencephalograph Technologists Registration
